How to do you really get height in your ollies? My ollies barely come off the ground

Put your foot close to the middle of the board so you have more slide, then pop more. Start practicing a lot and you'll get it down. Make small goals so you can achieve them.

Remember, you can only Ollie as high as you can jump.

Bend down a lot and then pop like your life depends on it

Try sliding your foot up the board as much as possible

Bend down lower it will give you are higher jump but its not all done from that... you need to find a good spot for the front foot which will give you good control / level and it takes harder pop... dont expect things to fast it does take time to find the right balance control and pop more practice =more height :)

Keep your front foot just behind half and push down with a lot of force on the tail and swipe up with your front foot harder than usually

Keep working ! Dont forget the ollie is basically a jump. Just pop hard and jump and don't forget to slide as hard as you can.

Bend your knees in the air

Pull your knees to your chest when you do it

Also be sure to bring your foot down more and flick hard

Hey man what you should do is put your foot further back not on the bolts try that

It's not as much about how high you can jump as much as people seem to make it sound it's more about how fast you can compress your body and jump, to get better at this do a lot of squats, wall sits, and lunges but make sure you are using good form when doing these workouts or it will cause more bad then good.

just let your back leg go higher

Pop hard and slide foot to the top of the board and remember you can only Ollie as high you jump so practice jumping high and make sure your footing is correct

Timing. Pop and kick your front foot up fast and high. Once you have t down you'll be able to fold your ankles for an higher Ollie. But that takes more practice and time.

You need to run every day the people say that the práctic make the perfection and thats all practic and practic

Your going to ned a bigger board and shoes that can kind of stay against the grip tape to drag it up in the air and remember to remove your leg you popped with

When u pop push down with the tip of your foot hard and slide afterwards just make sure to pop hard.

Make sure when you are popping your tail down to the ground you are putting all your weight onto your popping end and don't slide you foot up straight away wait until you feel the pop on the ground then jump and slide your foot up

Imagine you’re doing a kickflip without the flip

You can get more pop by only using the front half of your back foot

The two key principals to a higher Ollie is actually not to hard it just takes a lot of practice. What you want to do is pop the tail harder and over exaggerate the slide of your front foot up the board. A good way to Ollie higher is almost to Ollie north. Also try to Ollie onto or over something that helps
Don't forget after you pop and slide your foot up be sure to jump
Get your foot behind the bolts but to jump higher have your foot more back and remember to slide your foot up the board
You just have to snap back on your tail alot harder and put your foot at the half center
Move your front foot back pop as hard as you can and jump as high as you can and make sure you are sliding your front foot as much as you can.
Get your legs up higher as the board is coming up. The board will only go as high as you can jump so bend your knees in your jump to get your feet higher and then extend to land with both feet over the bolts to make sure you land right bro. Good luck.
Don't put your front foot too far back because it'll be harder to slide your front foot. Keep it farther up than the middle. And remember to put your foot at a slight angle when you slide it up the board.
Try to lower your front foot so you can slide your foot more and get more height and just practice it takes months to get your ollies high and consistent.
More pop
You have to slide your front foot all the way up to your nose and thats gonna maximize yor height
What I did is that I used ankle weights, they make you apply more pressure to the board and more pop and when u get used to ankle weights take them off, your Ollie's should be higher
Really use that front foot and drag it up the board
Lift your back foot higher when you jump
Crouch further down with you foot behind the front bolts. When you pop and slide, bring your knees up higher than you normally do and you'll get a lot higher as long as you do this as you're sliding your front foot.
Put your backfoot in the middle of the Crease
you should try to push your front foot just before the end of the nose
You have to have a really good hard pop and you need to make sure you slide your front foot all the way to the front of the board. Also if you don't have the timing right you won't get as high
Try putting your foot you pop with on the tip of the tale. Use the tips of your toes to balance then pop as you would regularly. Make sure when you do the ollie that your front food slides all the way up to the nose. This will make the board equal out in the air then just get ready to land. Don't forget to bend your knees!
To me, it's the quickness in how you pop your tail to the ground and slide your front foot up to even out the board. The quicker the snap and pop, the higher you should go. But this takes nothing but practice, and getting comfortable with the motions. Eventually it will just become muscle memory
Put your foot back father and try to jump higher. You can also try getting it higher by practicing hard in the grass, that's how I got mine very high
You have to get that good like slid of your foot
get a better pop and slide harder and faster pick up your nees
Just move your foot further back so you have more drag to the nose also having risers helps due to more angle
All you have to do once you can slide your foot up the board just pop really hard and fast
Jump high and slide your foot to get the tail off the ground
Put your front foot closer to your back foot à little
You have to get your foot as high on the board and while you're in air bend your knees as much as you can
When you get the pop motion with your tail down, along with dragging your foot up your board, tuck your knees into your chest. This will give the board more room to go up
I bend down a lot and bend my legs when I'm in the air. seems to work for me
Constant practice is the only answer. Your skateboard can only rise as high as you allow it to. Try popping harder, dragging your front foot higher to the nose and pushing forward, while bringing your back foot up. Holding onto fences would be helpful as you can force your body to stay in the air longer with your arms. After rolling ollies, try ollieing over obstacles - pen, pebble, bottle (sideway or upright), deck, etc. This will help you with the timing and commitment issues.
front foot on the middle of the deck or further back, pop and bring your knees up to your chest as explosive as possible!
jump higher
1. Bend down as low as you can
2. Pop the board hard
3. Slide your foot up
4. Bend while in the air.
Try leveling out your board more
so there's a vid by Braille on YouTube. I'll be brief. the further back your front foot is and the harder u slide it the higher you'll Ollie. you also have to have hops.
You need to jump high, pop hard, slide up your foot, and remember to pull up your back foot so you let the board come up of the ground!
put your front foot further back
Put your front Foot More Back.
Riding((: confidence
pop harder, jump higher and put your two feets closer too eaxh other (not TOO close)
You can only Ollie as high as u can yourself. With out a board try to pop the tail and slide you foot watch some braille videos he can really help you
As you slide your foot up the board, at the same time jump. If you correctly pop your board, slide your foot up the board, have good foot placement, have good timing, and jump with your board you should be able to complete an ollie. Practice this and eventually you should have your ollies down.
lift your front foot forward like a kick flip but instead of to the side like a kick flip you flick it straight up and lift your back foot up
Make sure to slide your foot as high as you can and remember to jump and bend your knees high to boost your height.
have you old grip tape? newer ones are better.
Suck your knees to your chest
i focused on sucking my legs towards my chest as much as possible. that really helped me get more height on my ollies
Keep trying you'll get it
Pop and really get those knees up
Honestly you dont even have to put your front foot in the Middle of the board. You just pop harder and suck your knees in really high to get height
Pop harder and try to slide and jump in a fluent motion. Also when you're off the ground try to point the nose down a little bit with your front foot.
First u wanna be able to have good hard snappy pops with out those then u wont be able to get the height u want. U also want to slide your front foot forward as much as possible this will maximize your control over the board while in the air. Finally u want to bend your knees really high even up to ur chin if u have too this will maximize your height. Hopefully that helped =3
Just jump and bend youre knees
Bascially getting your plies higher is all to do with how high you can jump. so practice ollieing not so high and jump a little higher every time.
Put your front foot back more for more slide
Repeat repeat and put an obstacle is a good idéa
bend it knees and push ur foot down
pop the tail harder
the more u slide ur foot the higher u go. it's that simple
You have to jump high and bend your knees in the air. Also swing your arms up like when you're trying to jump higher without your board:)
Jump high ang scratch well your foot
When I do my Ollie's I turn my feet side ways just a little not to much because if you do that then you will start to do a kick flip motion and if that's not helping always try to bend your knees when you jump and practice jumping on stairs
Pop harder and slide
U can try to drag your front foot up harder
Put risers on your board and put your foot closer to the middle both for higher pop
You can put your foot closer to the tail
Place your front foot back more than you usually do and pop the tail as hard as you can.
You have to up ur legs more up. And push the skate stronger!
A lot of times, at least in my case, I try to Ollie with my back bent, when in reality, you really have to use your legs.
Lift your knees up as high as you can and put your leg back and slide as hard as you can and bend your knees and pop as hard as you can
Jump
Hit the tail of the bord harder. Also when you are up in the air shift your body to the front of the board to leavel it out.
You just have to pop very hard. Flicking your foot only stabilise it.
I think maybe when you pop you need to let it pop just a split second longer, or just jump higher.
Jump off a mountain and you have a high ollie
When you Ollie move your feet faster that might help
Just pop, slide your foot up, but don't stop there! When you slide up your foot, extend it forward towards the nose and bend your back knee. The only thing you need to do now is land 😉
Bend your knees
You should star by keeping your foot lower down the board then usual this will give u more height and you should try bending your knee high up in the air mid-ollie
Practice to get more Pop
You need to wait for the tail to hit the ground before you give the bone
JUMP
Slide you foot up the board when you jump
Slide your foot up right to the top of the board, bend your legs and jump! You can only Ollie as high as you can jump tho so don't expect to be flying over houses 🤘🏼
I just put my front foot just about between the middle and the nose. Them I try to pop pretty hard but making sure my back foot comes up fast enough, but then slide all the way up the board. But make sure to slide with the board so you don't lose height. That's it I guess.
When you Ollie you really want to pop as much as you can and jump
Jump as high as you can and start to slide your front foot from the middle of your board to the front, so your foot has more slide room to get the board up higher. It also helps you balance yourself out when you land.
The way to get height is to go fast or do it off a ledge
Raise your back foot fight off the board
When doing ollies, begin moving your front foot further and further back overtime until it's pretty much the centre of your board to get more slide and make sure you tuck your legs up to your chest to get extra height
you really need to get a good/powerful pop so then when you even it out with ur front foot you get more height. you need to put a lot more pressure on ur back foot when popping
Just pop it as mush as you can
Practice practice practice and strengthen your legs with other workouts
try poping harder and slide your front foot farther up the board and make sure to raise your back foot with the board
Don't think about jumping, think more about lifting up your knees.ps more pop
When you put your foot on the tail push down harder and slide your foot faster
Try to bend down and jump and keep practicing
You have to crouch down and make sure u lift thhe front wheel first then the back to get the most height and also when doing all that make sure you spring yourself up
It's all about where you place your foot and how you can jump. How I got my Ollie higher was practicing jumping up on stuff (box jumps) at the gym. Plus try poping then almost jumping forward into the Ollie. Hope this helps
Your most likely not sliding your foot if your are sliding your foot then try poping your tail harder
When you are positioning your feet you wanna move your front foot a little further back on the board. You also should jump higher when you pop, really try to bend your knees
The faster you bring your legs to your chest, the higher your ollie will be
Put your foot more to the middel and begin to slide your foot from there.
Put your back foot on the edge of the tail and your front foot behind the bolts. And if you do it right your front foot will end up close to the nose. And jump as high as you can
Try to pop fast and move your front foot a little later against the nose of your board.
Pop hard and push your front foot through your board hard. You can also try putting your front foot farther back like behind the bolts or even farther back.
Try to jump with your board and have your front foot more in the middle of the board so you can have that friction to make it go higher
Make sure to really pop and slide up your foot at the same time. Put your front foot anywhere near the middle of the board, where ever in the area that is comfortable is fine.
Try putting your feet that you drag your board with when you do the Ollie farther away for the bolts
Try sliding ur foot faster up the bord.
Slide your front foot up while olling because it makes friction
You should practice sliding your foot up the board and practice popping the board and then just put them together and you might get more air
More slide, more pop. Then its just a matter of practice
In my opinion, you just have to pop harder and bring your front foot closer to the back. Once you start to Ollie, pop and slide your front foot up.
Work on your pop and really your front foot drag
Pop harder
Try popping harder and slide up and stay on the board
You have to pop really hard and then slide up
Touch your tows when you Bend down and when you jump bend your knees to your chest and get your back leg higher
It always helps me to pop and sort of scoop backwards as you pop then level it out with your front foot
actually fucking jump! not being mean but i notice alot lf people dont actually jump and tuck there legs up and its all about timing and knowing when to spring off your pop
You need to jump with the board!
Repetition. Everywhere you skate just Ollie over anything you can. Eventually you'll have them down and will have developed the muscles needed to Ollie higher
You just practice and they get better maybe move ur foot further down the board so u can get more drag
It's about how quick you pop and how much force you can pop your board with. If you can put a lot of force in a short amount of time you will pop higher. Also think of trying to suck your knees up as high as possible
You have to really POP the tail of your board. That's a common mistake. You slide your door up to early.
Pop the board hard, get a long slide and suck up your knees
After you slide your foot make sure you push forward after, so the board can level out it self.
Yea, middle of the board, pop quick and hard, and bending your knees closer to the body helps bring the board higher.
One thing one of my friends showed me is to lift up your back leg. It may take practice, but it helped me.
Put all the power you can towards the tail pop/snap, it'll get it up more to where you can level it out✌🏻️
Practice by taking your Blackfoot off and scrape the board up with the side of your front foot. Make sure you swing your arms up to get your body in the air
Bend your knees more
When u pop the front slide ur foot while it's halfway there pick up ur back foot a little that's what I do.
You need to jump more and kick a bit harder
Most likely your back of your board is lower and nose is higher. So if you drag or flick harder it would level you out and balance or level your board. So you would need a combination of a good pop and lift of your feet and a harder drag.Hope this helps
I normally put my front foot in the middle of the skate when I want to do a high Ollie ...But I believe that's important to Bend your knees and squat down and hit the tail hard at the same time you "rise from the squat"... That's take some time to learn!
Pop harder and jump higher
Pop harder
Try to pop more and slide your feet more and dont forget to jump high but no too much
1. When doing Ollie lift your back foot so the board becomes level 2.place front foot in the centre of board so there's more dragging room for foot 3.bent knees in the air. Keep trying and you'll get it 😄
The pop is the most important.
Jump higher and pop quicker.
I would put your forward foot under the bottom bolts. And for your back foot I would have the ball of my foot on the edge.
Okay...people who are talking about pop when u say that u need pop u need to explain it more so here what pop means put a little bit more power and if that doesn't help try putting your foot more near the echo of the tail instead of the middle of the tail
Bring your back foot up more, and your front foot down first, jump higher as well
jump
Make sure that your snaps are nice and popy
When you push of the tail make sure you snap it quickly the snapping is the most important part of the ollie. Also make sure you don't level the board out to early. It will come with practise be patient :)
When you do the only lift your back foot as high as you can
Jump higher
Be sure to pop hard and slide your front foot
Try putting your front foot further back homie
Keeping your foot closer to the middle will give more space to slide your foot up giving you height. Popping the tail harder also might help.
Once you have popped slide your front foot then lift your back foot and bend your k eyes so you will be able to level out your ollie with your front foot apply a bit of pressure .
Drag your front foot till the edge of the nose
Bate essa Porra mais forte ( portugues)
Just practice your pop. If you have a good pop, you can go higher.
Do click in tail and then d broach to nose
Make sure to get a good pop and slide your foot forward to even out that board.
try to get your front foot closer to the middle of the board to get your ollie higher✔
Pit you front fppt closer to the center of the board so you have more room to slide which will brong the board up, pop hard and remember to brong your knees high up cuase your board will follow, keep your shoulders straight over your feet and dont lean to the sides or to the front or back
I find that when you pop the tail it helps to have no weight on your front foot. Also when you pop really make it solid and then continue sliding your foot up. Remeber the pop has to be a fast movement
Bring your back foot up with your front. I used to forget that step and my ollies would level short. helped me a lot when added that step in
You should jump higher and pop harder
Practice
Pop hard and try to slide your foot slower and jump higher and also side your front foot to the tip of the nose
Pop hard and jump with your front foot in the middle of the board to level and I find that my front foot gets a lot of height as well
Start mover your foot to the center of your board
It sometimes just depend on how high you can jump or sucking up your knees to yor chest(making the board stay with tour feet)
It's all about timing! The moment you pop you should slide you front foot until you feel the beginning of the nose, when you'll bring the back foot to the level of height you got with your front foot. Another thing that helps for me is to really throw your arms to give you the "power" to lift your skate higher! Hope this helps you, peace!
You really need to bend your knees once you're in the air after sliding your foot. It will allow the board to keep going higher.
To train for it, you can hold a fence(or something of the same type), with both hands while you pop and slide your foot. It will help you to jump higher since you'll be able to "carry" your weight. Then you try with one hand and then, with none.
From my personal experience it worked but took time, so just stay patient and keep pushing.
If you want more height, lower your body more before the trick, and practice your pop. Close your eyes before the trick and picture yourself doing the trick. Then pop, flick, and land.
Haha
Haha
Haha
Haha
Lower yourself closer to the board, and stay there for a few seconds then pop as hard as you can.
Stretching is a big part of it. But just practicing is another big part of it.
Its all about your normal jump and how hard you pop the tale
Put your foot slightly to the middle of your board so that you have more space to slide your foot
Try to slide your front foot up more and try jumping higher
About 1 or 2 months if your good with your board
Try bending your legs so your feet goes higher. It'll give the board more room to go high
I would just try to Ollie over think that you know you can't Ollie over it works for me at least
Pop harder and jump
Make sure your front foot isn't too close to the nose so you can get room to slide and level your board. And make sure that back foot is on the tail and you get that pop down. I like to be kinda on my toes to get a good pop. And just keep practicing you'll get it.
If you have the basics of Ollie and height is a problem, Try and get someone to record your ollies. Then analyze what is limiting the height of your Ollie. In my case, my back foot used to limit the board's pop. I fixed it by turning my foot innards while jumping like a ninja kick (both your feet should point forward like a ninja kick) front foot straight as you slide and back foot knee bent after you pop
Jump when you swipe your foot
I struggled with this for a while, for me it was lifting my back foot higher but I reccomend recording your ollies in slow motion and comparing them to high ollies on youtube. Then you will know what to fix.
Bend down further and jump high, but dont push down too hard or the board wont go in the air
Have your front foot in the middle of the board and have your weight over it, and then pop very hard
Have you tried trying on grass and then practicing it without the board?
Maybe try that.
Pop harder and slide more, remember lift your legs as high as you can go but keep your sliding leg on the board for a good landing.
Slide your foot up the board faster.
1 month
pop more and slide more
Slide your foot more.
I used to move my foot back a little farther back on the board. Like four or five inches from the bolts. If you try this make sure you jump and dont let your back foot stay lower than the front when you level out.
Try to jump high
If you jump high your board will come with you.
Its all about the timing and scrap ur foot upwords not downwords
Timing and practice
My dude you have to pop the tail really hard then as soon as you pop it you have to bring back the back foot. Thats how you level it. Sucker.
About a day
Well do want to lift your knees to you
Lift your back foot up
Make sure that when you slide your foot it goes to the nose which will balance it out and jump as high as you can, pop hard, And slide from the middle
Make sure you're sucking your legs into your chest.
Pop harder and just keep practicing
Try popping off the ground harder and keep practising. Eventually you’ll get it 🤙🏽😉
After you pop lift you're front foot up high then slide it up.
Try bringing your foot down a bit so it can slide up a lot more
I really just got the hang of ollies but from personal experience its really all in how hard u pop your back tail and how high you jump.
Bend down a lot, push your tail into the groud and jump and slide your foot up the board at the same time
Make sure you're jumping immediately after the pop. You want all of your body weight moving up as high as possible.
What I did to get more height on my Ollie is I put some weight in a back pack and practiced Ollie's that way for a while and then when I took my backpack off and had no weight I could Ollie to about a foot or a foot and a half it will be awkward for a little bit with the backpack on but you'll get used to it
Practice.. but what helped me was jumping right as you get down when you are preparing.. do the trick as soon as you crouch.. that way u dont lose power
Go really down with your knees. When popping, flex your ankle a bit. After popping, LIFT YOUR BACK FOOT!!! Goodluck, you can do it!!!
Lift your back foot up really high after the pop.
I can only Ollie over a curb
Once you can get off the ground with your Ollie you want to pop harder and bend your knees higher so the board comes up when you jump
Just practice it a ton and you’ll improve
Might be late but a week
You have to have good timing and you have to drag your foot
Flick hard with your front foot
Its all about how hard u snap ur tail and the way u slide ur foot up towards the nose. If u want maximum height in ur ollies don't slide ur foot up flat on the grip tape, bend ur ankle a lil bit when sliding up
You have to push harder off the groud and your back is probably still on the board when you pop the board. So as soon as you pop the board up you pick the back foot up.
Hit the tail hard
Practice your vertical jumps and try to Ollie up stuff
Maybe try bringing your back foot into the air more
You have to jump up
Pull up on your handlebars
pop the tail down harder and jump before the pop also try to align your feet and jump high just practice
Try bending your knees and jump when doing it.
When you jump higher, the board tends to get higher as well. Start by getting small Ollie’s down then add in high jumps and high Ollie’s will come
Jump higher
Pop your tail harder or your not doing enough drag or something that helped me a lot when you pop you also have to jump yourself while draging your foot up
Well I’ve just barley begun but my dad always tells me you need to like pop it like do what you doing just attempt to jump high really challenge yourself!
Keep practicing and over time your ollies will get higher
Place your front foot further back it creates more room for power
Timing!
Lift ur legs up as high as u can get them after u pop
Bend down far and pop with the ankle of your back foot and slide your foot up the board. When sliding your front foot pretend you are kicking something in front of the board so it levels out....
Pop with your ankle And slide your so far forward it almost feelsnlike your kicking in front of the board
when i’m about to leave the ground, i pop the tail on the ground and that seems to get me more height
Start with your foot center of the board and pop harder, and when your front foot catches on the grip tape, jump. Just jump, nothing special
For your back foot make sure your Poping with the toes and not the whole foot it gets higher off the ground
Use your ankle to pop
Pop a lot harder on the tail and jump as high as you can it can be kinda sketchy at the start but you will eventually get it down
Make sure you slide all the way to the nose of the board the slide is what lifts you up, also bend your knees to your chest
Jump with your body and slide that front foot
Drag your foot more
Try to put your front foot more to the middle of the board and try to pop your tail by flicking your foot not pushing all the way down.
Pop your tail harder
Give up
I push down really fast on the tail of the board, it gives momentum (at least for me)
Put your front foot further back and pop harder
Mine don’t either
you must use your ankle to really pop the tail off the ground not your whole feet
its in the pop bro
Make sure to slide your foot up on its side and bring both your knees up right when you pop. As soon as your foot slides and hits the nose, pop and jump, bring your knees to your waist and kinda keep your front foot at a little angle, like 15 degrees to keep the board on your feet.
Pop with your ankle not with your foot.
Slide your front foot all the way up and lift your back foot when you jump
All you have to do is get some pop, peel the back foot off the board a tiny bit then, slide your foot forward to the most. And now I can Ollie over curbs and on to rails and stuff.
Timing is key. You should get the timing down if you just practice a lot.
Slide kind of diagnoly instead of straight out
Put your front foor to the middle of the board and when you pop, pop a little backwards literally just push your back foot backwards and when you hear the pop jump high very high with your body and then slide your front foot. That's it.
Try popping more and jump gigher
Get more slide room and skate shoes and don't forget to slide with your ankle and not your foot and replace your grip tape every few years for better grip
You need to push the foot down until you are close to the ground then take your foot up
Snap hard and jump high. Back foot has to come up too.
Well, usually, what will help is bending your knees a lot. The more you bend your knees, the more height you will get.
Put your front foot closer to the middle of the board. Then slide it farther and faster towards the front of the board.
You gotta pop more and jump higher try touching the floor with your hand then jump
Make sure you bend down far enough so you can tap the floor with your hand then pop
