grip the ledge at the top with 4 fingers but not your thumbs and when your feet hit make sure the ends on your toes hit first. ?

Try to keep your legs tucked up and hang from the ledge more than hold yourself up, that way you can hold the position for longer, rather than maintaining tension in your arms, relax them.
