When I try to do this trick the the board slides out from under me. What are some progressions or exercises I could use to work my way up?

The angles of ur feet; do it in the grass and find an angle(the positin of ur feet on the board)that works for u I suggest a 45° relative to the side of the board

I used to have the same problem ambassador! My advice is practice a bit on the grass, the part 2 is to do it on a flat area but with no motion at all. If you doing it with out falling, then you are ready for doing it with some speed! Keep shredding!!!

I think it's balance excercises. U're putting too much weight at some moment and that's why board slides out. Try to ride on one foot, turn on one foot. That should improve your balance

You can do the move on your boards but off, not on the weels; I always do this before learning a new step or to create a dance, it helps do have good heavy transferts :)

Place your board on grass and just practise like that cause it won't move much before trying to do it rolling
