How important is speed for this slide?

Well, its more about the technique than speed. Before i first did a coleman 180 i've been watching videos for hours and hours just to get it right. I wasn't going faster than ~5mph and could stand it first try. When you're about to learn speed checks or pendys, I'd suggest you to use some slidier wheels and not to go faster than you're used to go. Keep your head pointing to the direction you want to go. If you don't grab your board with your uphill hand it's pretty easy to control your direction

Speed is only important to a certain degree. It is true that the faster you go the easier it is to slide, but when you're learning you obviously don't want to go dangerously fast. To counter this, buy some extremely slidey freeride wheels (cadillac swingers, premier wheels, free dumbs, cults, skiddles, etc)

don't go too far out of your comfort zone when you're learning. it shouldn't be more than a little scary. most of the slide initiation is technique. after you figure that out, more speed will allow you to hold your slides longer

Speed for slide is important thing. On small speed you don't go to slide.

Speed is very important when it comes to sliding. More speed, easier sliding and more fun! :D

Speed is very important. Even the biggest pros can't slide if they're going too slow. Basically you have to go at the speed of "holy shot I'm gonna die" and you ll see it will pull off by itself

Speed is need for there to be enough force for the wheels to break traction

very important. the faster you go, the easier it is to know class out and go farther. just be careful

You do need to hit a certain speed to start a slide.
But technique is important as well.
My suggestion is that you try at comfortable speeds and increase from there. Might not work off the bat but it is still better than going too fast with no technique.

Speed is one of those most important parts to this trick, but you really need to lean and kick out a lot. Always remember it is better to kick out and low side than have no kick out and high side.

The slower you go, the harder your wheels will make it easier to slide but harder to control. The softer your wheels, the faster you will need to go but you'll get much better control.

I know going fast can be scary when learning to slide, but you don't need TOO much speed. Just enough so you can break traction and keep sliding. Think of drifting in a car, you can't drift if you're going five miles per hour. ~30 mph will give you a proper drift because the kinetic energy before breaking traction will send you in a straight line for longer. The faster you go, the farther the slide.

Yo I just grabbed my pucks and picked a flat area, went as fast as I could push and ripped my shorts till I had it down... definitely practice how you will distribute your weight on board to get the feel down. Best of luck and rip to whatever shorts/pants you should choose

I'd say the wheels :), go for 82-84a, they'll slide on slower speeds.

Think about this, the faster your going the easier it is to drift or initiate a slide. There are specific motions that have to been done in a step by step process to safely do the slide and land it. The heelside Coleman can be done at a slower rate of speed (15-20mph) but will be harder to land, now if you really wanna land this trick and make it look sick. Gotta grow a pair of nuts and get some fast speed (30-40mph) to really feel out how this slide works. It's all about mastering the motions!

Speed is very importent for sliding but first do it slowlier.
More speed=more meterse i
Follow me and see my last vídeo
If you don't have enough speed, you will roll in a circel and don't slide. Or you go down hard in a tree or something! 😁🤘🏼 Like my first trys!
More speed=easier and longer slides
I would have a little speed but nothing uncomfortable
speed is everything along with style! check out Jay Adams on YouTube!
After you learn it it is not important but if u are learning go faster it will be more eazy to go to slide
Speed is one of the most important thing a when attempting this slide
I just push and do the slide. The weight u put in it is more important. Butt yeaahh it will be an easier turn in high speed.
Basically you can train going slowly, going faster is helpful but makes a slide scarier to master :)
The harder your wheel is The easier
More speed bigest slides
The more the better
Speed is not important, you just need to they the technique done. I can do stand up slides going about 4 miles an hour
Once you get good at the Coleman it's less important, buuuut at first you'll want some speed. Learning new slides is scary cause you don't really know what your doing. Find were your comfortable and work up from there
