I wouldn’t worry too much about where you back is heading, but rather look out for the landing between your legs.

Best way to start is stay on toe edge and let the turn start your momentum, then jump it will be more in between of a 90 / 180 but it helps with getting the feeling of turning backwards to start

I am still working on mine but the best tip I received was as you are making the rotation look down at the tip of your snowboard until you land completely. I also found it good to practice off side hits or the bottom lip of a half pipe. Just make sure you look around so you don’t hit anyone. Like you said it’s a blind turn so peeps come up fast!
