How do you not end up doing a rodeo I keep trying it but I always end up spinning and making myself wipe out

Well, when you are taking off you have to make sure that your arms and your shoulders should be completely parallel to your board, also make sure that when you take off that you are looking at the tail of your board. Try practicing on a tramp and tape a skateboard or dome type of simulated board and try till you get it! Hope this helps!
You can do a back flip 2 ways. You can flip by looking straight up back and around this how you would flip on a trampoline or a diving board. You can also flip like a cartwheel, Flipping over the tail of the board. This is called a wildcat flip. Try taking your front arm and throwing over your shoulder and head at the lip of the Jim during take off.
If your doing the other flip and your always turning sideways. It's all in your shoulders. STOP moving your shoulders when doing a flip. The rotation is all in how you throw your head. Where the head goes the body follows.
Just commit
You have to leave the jump on your toes
Do it like the others told you or do like a sideflip on the trampolin
Just take the advice from Randy Mertl
To do a laid out backy, make sure when you go off the take off to hope off your back foot while throwing your leading arm to the sky and lean back to spot your landing. Make sure you keep your arms parallel with your board otherwise if your leading should goes is angled frontside you’ll do an under flip or if it’s angled backside you’ll throw a rodeo. Most people tend to go off axis when throwing a barrel roll as it’s hard to keep the shoulders parallel
Don’t just lean back right away, make sure to throw the front shoulder up to keep you on axis with the direction your going and then dip that head back
