How do you ride switch without forming a switch "pizza"?

Practice skiing across the hill (traversing) switch, Ski one on one foot switch, turn to a stop switch, etc. Basically just use exercises that help beginners learn to parallel, but backwards.

Try to do the same things you would when skiing parallel forwards (making the same turns and putting more weight on one foot or the other, etc.), just going the back of the skis first. Then just keep practicing.

The way I learned was to initiate my turns by lifting weight off of the foot in the direction I want to turn and then gradually reduce how big of a v I make

Once you know how to do parallel turns normally, you shoud just apply the same technique to switch. But first you have to be accustomed to little bit of speed and trust yourself going backwards. Then just: hip out, knees aligned and upper torso straight.

Do not have your skis even when skiing switch, different from skiing normal. You want to offset whichever ski on the side of the shoulder you are looking over by moving the tips four to eight inches separated from each other top to bottom. Keep skis close when riding switch. Sounds like you need to figure out how to ski normal with your skis close and then figure out skiing switch, and I have only ever hockey stopped when skiing switch or 180ed back to normal in order to stop facing normal.
Look behind you and kinda put the trailing ski further down the hill then the lead ski. And just practice whenever your on a easy run.
Stagger your skis
Don’t go straight down do switchbacks
