A windward side flip, in which you bear away in switch position with your sail in backwind.
How do it
A revolutionary trick invented and first presented at a competition by Gollito Estredo, the multi world champion from Venezuela. It’s a windward side flip, in which you bear away in switch position with your sail in backwind.
1.
Gain speed, find some flat water and begin to perform a funnell, ducking the sail and grabbing the boom on the opposite side.
2.
Crouch down and quickly bring the sail downwind, bending your mast arm and pressing the sail with your clew arm.
3.
As soon as the sail goes over the nose, pop by straightening your legs, and continue moving the sail. Turn your upper body during the rotation and extend your legs. Try to lay the sail down windward and catch the power of the sail from underneath.
4.
During landing, bend your knees and use your mast arm to extend the sail in the direction of rotation. Lean to the bow and turn your upper body windward.
5.
Open the sail and complete the trick to 360 by flipping the sail to the opposite side and switching your leg position. Or complete to 540 without flipping the sail.
