A spock with clew regrip during the jump.
How do it
For the longest time, this move was considered the hardest trick in freestyle. Invented and named by Ricardo Campello. For consistent execution, this trick requires good technique and sail control. It’s essentially a spock with clew regrip during the jump.
1.
Prepare for the jump — grab the boom in a wide hold, release the harness, bear away and select a suitable chop. When bearing away, tilt the sail inwards to the turn, and close it. Stabilize the board and pop off.
2.
During the jump, draw the sail forward with your mast hand and regrip the clew by crossing your hands. Bend your back leg hard, directing the nose downward, while simultaneously turning your body into the rotation and holding the sail with your arm bent at the elbow.
3.
Right before landing, bend forward hard, to stay over the center of the board, and simultaneously let go of the sail, quickly bringing your hand behind your back.
4.
As soon as you let go of the sail, grab the boom on the opposite side, close to the harness lines. Remember, your body should be turned towards the sail.
5.
Once you land, extend your free hand to the side and bend your front knee, to hold your balance. Complete the rotation just like a regular spock.
