Is there a way I can practice this without a trampoline or while out wakeboarding?

I used to slow down to about 18-19 mph and shorten the rope and try them. You won't make it wake to wake but it's slow enough where it's not scary and it doesn't really hurt if you end up on your head. A helmet is also a piece of mind.

Side flips in the swimming pool ;)
Trying the trick on a cable could help. Also side flips are a good thing to practise!
The best way would be just behind the boat. just stay close to the wake, dont go out to far and take a slow progressive edge to the wake and dont flatten your boars and at the top of the wake push your hip foward and think of the wake as the start of your roll. Make sure not to push the handle on the side keep ot centered. If your left foot forward what can also help is if the boat drive can make a light left turn right before you start yo edge that makes the wake a bit pointier and help loads
Try at cable first so much easier

Cartwheels or side flips on the ground. I find handstands get me accustomed to being upside down

Try wake skat ditch board
Do cartwheels or if you ride at a cable try doing a backroll of the starting dock without a board.
