Any tips on the edge and release? I find I can't get any pop or height off the water

The cut is like carving a C shape into the water. Make sure you you start under the cable and then start the edge and then try to throw you front foot behind your head on the release.
You should try edging hard without the release you can feel the cable pull you out the water already when you commit to te back rol you edge short en you kick you front foot back and just look over your shoulder and your body will follow

Cut in a reverse Nike logo motion and make should you have a progressive edge so you build the most tension.
