I'm really scared of tryring it, I'm sure I can do it but I can't get up the courage. Any advice?

The trick is you want to act like you are throwing your chest up into the air. Do this onto your back a few times. Then you wanna start throwing your chest into the air while throwing both arms up and back over your shoulders like an uppercut. Once you get use to this. Do this at your peak and tuck your legs in. Then spot your landing and you are good to go!

Practice on the trampoline just bouncing on your back and practice rolling backwards over your head then just do it while jumping on a tramp and build confidence by trying in the pool then do it into the pool

I had the same probleme. Try it with somebody who grab your shorts and then launch the backflip 4-5 times and if you feel it good, try it alone.

Try to rotate over your shoulder (backwords sideflip) and Then try to do it over your head. good luck

well u should start on a tramp and if that doesn't scar move to foam and the mats

try putting some pads or blankets or something soft to help incase u don't make it all the way around and if u can have a friend there with u

What helped me was the realization that I can spot my landing for most of the time that I am in the air

It's all in the head, try and stop your bodies natural response to bail and just commit 100% then you'll have it. Good luck

Try landing on your back then finishing the flip. One you do that just tuck and give it

If you have any friends who can spot you do that, I learned my first backflip getting spotted and have your friend help u get the rotation less and less each try

I started doing one handed back handsprings the I did a back hand spring after the I just started to just higher so I couldn't touch the ground check out some other flips follow flip bros

To do it flat get some blocks and flip of those then go to Mars and flip off those till you get to flat you can also get someone to spot you

Start by doing backdrops then throwing your legs back and landing on your feet. Once you are really comfortable with that, go for the full backflip

U can start by flipping over ur shoulder and work in getting higher over ur shoulder until u get to the point when ur about to ur flip over ur head and ur body will think ur just flipping over ur shoulder

Just do it. This is what i do if im scared just count down from 3 then just go for it if you fail thatd not a problem just do it over and over again until you are good at it. Then you can teach other people how to do it.

Don't think just throw your body backwards and tuck but first try landing on your back and you will get it

Don't think about it. ;) if you fall then if you are on a tramp not much happens.
Have someone help you and then have them slowly take their hand away
First just do a backwards roll on the trampoline or a back handspring if you can then slowly bounce just a bit and just do it higher and higher until your comfortable with flipping back wards
Try it in the foam pit, that's how I got over the fear of doing the backflip👍
Make your mind blank and don't think of the bad things that could happen

Just go for it, that's what I told my 6 year old brother on a front flip
Jump on to your back first, and then start jumping backwards over your shoulder. Always look for the ground. If you can spot the ground. It's hard to get hurt :)
Well it's really not much. All you have to do I throw itself as fast as u can and bend your knees in a little. Maybe try YELLING COMMIT after your third jump and after you throw it correctly you will land it shortly.
If you can do a back handspring just keep doing that. Keep trying to go farther and farther before you put your hands down. That should get you used to going back enough so you can do the full flip. Good luck!
Try learning a back handspring firs do you know the momentum then when your ready don't us your hand try not to think of any thing except picturing you doing it that can help

Before you do a backflip, try doing a backdrop and then roll backwards. It is kind of like a backflip. It will still be scary. Just get a good high bounce and remember to tuck. Go for it!

Try it in a foampit
I was the same way I recommend going to a trampoline park and Practice in a foam pit.
Look at the sky and take a step back before the flip so you already have that backwards rotation going, and just throw your arms and tuck your knees in
When u do it just swing your arms and your head backwards and tuck
I had the same problem but to learn the backflip I went to the trampoline park and moved some of the foam in the pit so I could get the full rotation and then you just have to go for it but don't jump high try to get distance backwards

Try outing a hand behind you so when you flip your hand can support you and you won't get scared, slowly start flipping faster and start removing your hand from your trampoline
Try going over your shoulder sort of like a back handspring then when u get confident try it with no hands until you force yourself into going over back. Going over your back is one thing that takes time though

People sayng to bounce on to your back doesnt work. What i did and taught all my friends (who can now 2backflip and backflip 720) is to learn to do an of acis backflip (going over your shoulder). Then start straightening up and you will get it within 1/2 days of tryjng!!

You just got to convince yourself to do it. It is the hardest thing to do but just think how awesome it will be once you land it!
If you get enough height it will be really easy to flip even if u bail, the height of a flip will allow for a more controlled flip.

Honestly the hardest part is mental confidence. Which is pretty true for most tricks. To get over the mental confidence I would tell you to practice a back pull over. To do this lean back in the air and land flat on you back. You should feel it on your should blades and not on your neck or your head. Also don't land too close to your butt or you will bounce and hit your head. Then from your back pull over backwards and land on your feet. Do this until you are comfortable then you can do it
You have to try it and if you see the landing you will automatically open up and stop spinning.
Do back cartwheels then backhand springs, then over rotate back handsprings until your doing backflips.
Start to land a lot of time on the back first and after start backrolling after a back landing. It will give you good movements if you try to never backrolling on the side with your shoulder and it will also be less scary.
Do sideways cartwheels. Back hand springs. Backflip. Progress from one to the other. Good luck!

I was scared for 2 years but that got me over the fear
Also, just getting a lot of skill will help you mentally like learning kabooms and sideflips variations and off axis spins

i had the same problem but i did sort of an off to th side flip and soon i was just going straight over

Flipping is scary. Mostly at first, until you get super comfortable with it. Bring out some mats if you’re too scared to just go for it. One trick that will help you get over for your first time is to start leaning backwards and do what’s called a macaco. This Will get you more prepared for the actual backflip
