Remember to jump straight up and then tuck when you hit the top.

Try taking a step back before you do your flip, because then you already have that backwards motion, so then you just have to pull the flip around.
You should prevent forward motion by keeping your stance shoulder width or feet together and focusing on jumping backward while tucking, this will make you do a backflip traveling backward. Now, you are going to want to land where you started when doing a perfect backflip. So, to do this, you will need to swing your arms upward (fully extended) after maintaining a good bounce to enter the backflip, when you are in the air, you tuck your legs hard into your body. Then, you should land at start.
