How do it
One of the first snowboard spins every beginning rider has to tackle. A great way to train your in-run to the kicker and launching off your edge.
1.
Start off learning this trick on a flat surface. Ride diagonally across the slop, leaning on your heels. Crouch down, execute an ollie and spin with your shoulders. Watch your landing spot. . Once you start to get a hang of the movement, move onto a trampoline.
2.
When standing on the in-run, plot the diagonal line you’ll be following to the kicker.
3.
With knees slightly bent, ride your board flat, very gently pushing down onto your toes. Before going onto the kicker, crouch down a little more and push into the heel edge with your back leg, thus preparing for the jump.
4.
Once you’re on the kicker, begin to smoothly turn your shoulders. On launch, your shoulders should be turned and your board should be straight. Begin to draw up your legs and reach for the grab. Once in the air, look for your landing spot. Your left shoulder should be turned in the direction of rotation.
5.
All that’s left is to land on bent legs, cushioning the impact.
