Going uphill to ski on powder from the top.
How do it
Going uphill on powder requires particular effort, but who said walking up a mountain would be easy?
1.
Trailing in deep snow is hard, but if you have wide rocker skis, then your toes will rise naturally, which means you won’t have to lift your leg up high with every step. If your toes do dig into the snow — try placing your heel lifter one position higher.
2.
In deep powder, the kick turn will come easier if you remember these two little secrets.
3.
When turning the first ski, push your heel down deep into the snow, under your pivot ski — this way you won’t have to turn your legs into ballet stance.
4.
When turning the second ski, use your pivot leg as an axis — this way, you’ll be able to turn the ski without taking it out of the snow.
