How do it
To get a feel for your skiing stance, find the lowest incline at the bottom of a slope and ride down.
1.
Sidestep a couple of meters up the slope.
2.
Place your skis along the slope. Take off. If you wish, you can use your poles to push off.
3.
Stand straight. Bring your arms forward. Feet at shoulder width. Keep your skis parallel and your eyes in the direction of movement.
4.
The sign of a correct stance is a lack of strain in your legs (hips). To achieve this, try to always shift your leverage onto your shoe tongues — and under no circumstance should you lean back onto your heels. If you're holding poles, keep them in front and don't try to use them during the slide.
