Turns with your skis in a "V" shape.
How do it
Now that you know how to brake and start back again, it's time to learn how to maneuver. Let's try out some plough turn. It's all fairly simple.
1.
Start off just like you did in the previous exercises.
2.
If while braking with the plough you create more resistance with one of your feet (by pushing down on it harder), then your skis will immediately begin to turn. The outer leg (the leg performing the turn) will be holding the majority of your weight.
3.
Practice performing these turns in both directions. Always have your shoulders turned in the direction of movement. When transitioning between turns, keep your eyes on the slope.
4.
Remember, there is no need to rush, so only proceed to your next turn after you've gained sufficient speed. And you can brake at any time, exactly like we'd covered in the previous exercise.
