Turning on parallel skis is a stumbling block for many newbies.
How do it
Riding and turning on parallel skis is the stumbling block of many a newbie, but is in fact quite easy to master.
1.
To completely transition away from riding plough, you need to learn to take all pressure off your inner ski during turns. Start off by doing this at the end of each turn.
2.
Then begin doing it earlier and earlier.
3.
Since all the pressure during the turn is on the outer leg, then the only thing preventing you from riding parallel is the knee of your inner leg. You need to open it towards the turn and place the inner ski on its outer edge.
4.
This is a very stable position. It's important your always look in the direction of movement, keep your arms in front of you, don't lean back on your heels and relax your legs.
