how do you commit into dropping in?

Start on something small like A little mini-ramp
Try building it up on a gradient on a stupidly small ramp like barley even there start of hip thing slash curve thing don't know name. And imagine that if u drop in u will become pro for your fav skate brand or just stare at your board and not ramp
I suggest putting your front foot slightly before the bolts so that your feet are not too far one from another. this way, when you drop in, it feels much safer to transfer your weight on your front foot. also, the faster the movement, the better. don't overthink it, just do it.
I learned by practicing drop ins on a bank. On guy told me to pretend I was useing the front of my board to squish a bug. That always made me more committed to leaning forward and getting the front end down
Start on as lower ramp as possible then it's all about just commuting to it... it may look scary but the main idea is to lean forward until you reach the bottom then balance your weight again
You just do it. What do you mean "how do I commit?"
Id say just got for the size of ramp you’d be most comfortable with trying. Don’t go for anything you’d definitely hurt yourself on and then you just gotta think what’s the worst that can happen. First time I attempted to drop in (which failed) I felt a rush and wanted to do it all day until I got it haha. So there’s a good side to just trying it even if you don’t make it.
you have to just get yourself mentally prepared. 99% fear 1%skill. just drop and lean all your weight slapping down the front and that’s it. You HAVE to commit or you will eat shit
One thing that helped me a ton was to to focus on leaning my body to where it's even to the ramp and just letting my legs follow
Put one foot out for support and go down and get comfortable before you send it
