u should kick/push harder with your back foot
jump in the same direction that your board
Try practicing the pop/scooping action with your back foot until you feel comfortable with getting the timing right and spinning the board around (basically a way of developing the muscle memory of the action). Then move on to catching the board with your front foot only and finally just commit with both feet! hope that helps :)

Try placing your feet differently
Try to spin the board with your front foot too
try to shuv forward, kinda throwing your back foot in front of you and jump backwards. Also try shuviting with one foot on the floor just to get the hang of it. It’s a fun and simple trick, once you understand it.
when your foot is on the tail push out faster but remember to pop the board and jump back to land it
