Whenever I try to nollie, the board doesn’t come off the ground and it ends up feeling really goofy. How can I fix this or work towards it?

Well your problem is that your not riding enough switch, when you ride switch it’s just like learning how to ride again just ride every where like that and once in a while go back to your normal stance and then try to Do you like reverts and then once you got switch down really good you can try the Nollie it’s the same thing as a switch ollie
Practice sliding your foot
Ya, do it Braille Skateboarding style. Hold the board down in a pop and slide your foot up over and over. Next try to ride, and do a pop that makes you stop, and slide your foot. After that, your ready! Just keep trying and you got it man. You can also try to ride switch a little bit to get used to it and that might help to.

Pop harder and drag you foot to get the tail off the ground like an Ollie so you level it out.
Make sure to just put your board in a position as if you had just popped it up. Now practice sliding your back foot from behind the bolts. After feeling comfortable with this motion practice your pop. After that you should be able to nollie
