When I flick my foot my i miss it because my board is already roatating

Start doing the flip earlier and push your back foot out with less pressure(slower)
Try to follow the board with your front foot and flick earlier
Also to add on too those two answeres flick more down, its nothing like a kickflip
What helped me w the flick was keeping my weight back over the tail, that way ur board kinda goes rocket so ur flick is more likely to fully flip the board.
