Make sure you can comfortably Ollie up and over the obstacle. So Ollie up like a 5050 then slight shifty for the smith. The trick here is to keep your weight back. You stick because you are to forward or even too centered. Keep practicing you’ll figure out how to distribute your weight slightly back for a good slide. GL

Try and land your back truck and the middle of your board hit the rail at the same time
Make sure it's waxed up, have a half decent speed, when you Ollie in to it 95% of body weight is in the back leg, keep your shoulders inline with the edge, twist you legs in towards the ledge keeping your weight on the back foot pointing your toes on your front foot.
Ben is correct. Just dont rely on wax. Its gonna give you a false sense of security. A front smith is a power move. All you need is a lotta speed! Keep pushin’!
