I cant lock in how do I ?

Before I did this grind I would always skate next to a crack in the ground. I would pretend the crack was a rail and I will Ollie onto it millions of times. As soon as I felt comfortable enough to attempt it I tried to do it on a box first. After a couple of tries I got it!! I still have troubles myself on rails but I though this might help!!

Try practicing on a lower ledge or set your board in front of the ledge and try popping onto it until you start to get the lock. Also lean towards the ledge

try doing different angles like try going parallel and if that dont work then try going at a angle but not to straight
I have the same problem from my experience it's best to be Parallel to the box
All you have to do is come paralel to the ledge, then do a really high ollie and then do a bs 90 onto the ledge
First try doing a 5050 without rolling then slowly go faster and faster. This helped me a lot
Make sure when you Ollie on to the rail you must get over the rail
Try to lean back a bit
Do an ollie over your obstacles and then try to lock it on the rail, remember to bend your knees at the same time to balance yourself then put the weight into the back truck to lunch yourself out of the 50/50. Dont give up
You need to have a good ollie and pop an push forward
Make sure you aim to lock the wheel closest to the edge locked in. Practice on a ledge before you take it to the rail it will give you confidence.
Balance on the rail heelside
Start with a cerb, go on the ground then Ollie on to the cerb you should get used to that then try ledges and rails
Make sure your board is grinding in the middle of your trucks. Catch some good speed also.
Try frist on a ledge
First*
It's all about pinch and pressure, feel your trucks pinch into the ledge or rail, and then lean accordingly, bend your knees on impact and don't just slam your board down on the obstacle it helps if you just Ollie high enough where you glide on rather than land.
Balance
You might be leaning too far toward your toes. Try it leaning back towards your heel side.
Dont start on a rail, try on a crack and then on a lower ledge.
Just stay balanced and when u pop on to the the rail stomp on your board
Lean forward
Really push down and out on your board to keep the wheels on the ledge.
Me to
Ollie far forward
Push your board when you Ollie on stair. Then you will feel your wheels lock on the edge of the stair
Tilt your board a little bit to the side
Try to do it on a less then try to get your heal side of the truck on the the coping
