I always end up kick turning instead of power sliding, is this because I put to much Weight on my back foot?

Nope. Youre just pushing DOWN on the tail instead of pushing FORWARD. Make sure youre on some hard wheels, 90 or above.

It’s less about weight and more about rotation of your body. Lead with your should and follow through with hips keeping your legs in place. Releasing the pressure of off your foot causing it to slide.
weight control is part of it.. try pushing out mid carve rather then when youre rolling straight.. the flexed trucks seem to detach from the ground easier.. getting used to the feeling is most of it, which comes from practice
Use a small amount of weight on the front and wind up and rotate your body
Don't lift the tail, push your foot forward, with a turning like motion. (Not the greatest explanation I tried)
Don’t push your tail down your supposed to push your board frontwards by putting pressure on your back foot by going forward. Also pretty sure most people I’ve seen powerslide put there foot position nearly on the bolts put not directly on there
