2472 riders can do it
A one-hand vault where the opposite leg rises so the other leg can quickly step over the obstacle.
How do it
The Speed Vault is useful when the athlete needs to overcome an obstacle while preserving forward momentum and full speed. It takes confidence and commitment.
1.
Run forward facing the obstacle.
2.
Take of with the leg you are more comfortable with.
3.
Kick the opposite leg upwards.
4.
Place the hand of the same side of your take off leg on the obstacle.
5.
Keep your body horizontal and parallel to the obstacle.
6.
Spilt your legs to be ready to land with your take off leg and run away from the obstacle.
7.
Note: It may be useful or stylistically important to split the legs when speed vaulting instead of keeping them side by side. Also, a risk with using the speed vault is smashing a knee on the object so keep that in mind during takeoff.
