A 180° turn then riding backwards and exiting.
How do it
U-turns on the bike are very showy, and can be performed anywhere and from any place. And you can incorporate tricks into the turn! We hope you’re sold on the idea by now. Your basic move is a 180-degree turn riding backwards (fakie) and exiting. If you’re right foot is leading, then you’ll have to turn to the left, no exceptions! Find a flat surface to train on, though a slight slope is fine also. Do not exit into fakie right away, ride a bit, get your control down.
1.
Let’s learn to jump with a U‑turn. We must perform a bunny hop while looking at the rear wheel. Try to make it to about 90 degrees without wedging the bike or carrying the rear wheel. Press in, pull the the bike upwards and to the side, all while looking at the rear wheel. Now learn to carry over the rear wheel. To do this, ride at medium speed, transfer your weight to the front, lift the rear wheel with your legs, bending your knees and sharply throwing the tail to the side.
2.
Now combine all of these movements. Bunny hop upwards and sideways. Keep looking at the rear wheel.
3.
Bring the rear wheel up, shifting the tail to the side with your legs.
4.
Land and ride fakie.
