when I turn to make the coleman slide, instead of sliding my longboard just turns, what do I do wrong?

Have you tried kicking your board out a little?
Shift your weight to your front foot, and throw your shoulders out pretty hard. The board will follow, and your wheels will lose traction. To bring it back around just throw your shoulders back to where they started.
Lean back more on your hand so there is less weight on the wheels. (Make sure you’re wearing gloves.) then kick out with your back leg so they start to slide.
