as of right now, all I do is slide my glove and turn deeper, I was wondering if my wheels are too soft, and about kicking my foot out hard?

-more weight on the front of your board, get your back foot closer to the front one (makes it easier to kick the board), usually it's not about the wheels but rounded lips helps though, speed as well

If the speed isnt enough nothing will happen, you have to go fast enough and turn with enough lean that you force the wheels to slide

Try doing a set up carve before you spend money on stuff so say you start on the left side of the road then carve over to the right side then carve deep, touch down, and kick out all at the same time. Hopefully that helps
