What should I do to better maintain balance when doing the steps?

I noticed that it's easier for me to keep balance when I lift one or both arms in the air while performing cross steps. A bit like the dancer emoji does ๐๐ผ Hope that helps to illustrate what I mean haha

Spread your arms and for me the key to maintain my balance was to look to my feet. Once you can do the steps try looking forward.

Use your arms for balance, Look at your feet and bend your knees a little

What i noticed for me was that i had better balance if my weight was mostly on my heel rather than toes
