A skidding motion performed with your rear tire, can be done on any obstacle.
How do it
The applications of this trick are endless. You can perform Tire slide at any spot, in the quarter, on a concrete ledge or rail. It's best learned on a pyramid, but if there's no pyramid handy, even a dirt bank will do. It's all in the technique anyway.
1.
Ride onto the hip, do a small hop (not a bunny hop!) and pull the handlebars towards your outer hip. Make sure to keep your legs tense and practically straight.
2.
Now let's try doing all of that again, only flying over the pyramid table. Perform a similar hop, but a little bit sooner, so that you're flying along the surface of the table.
3.
Now turn your bike to the side and start with the legwork. What you're aiming to do is brush the entire surface with your wheel by pushing your legs forward in a soft, fluid motion. The friction between the wheel and surface should be minimal, owing to the angle of the bike and your correct entry.
