How do it
Knowing how to jump from a quarter is a *must* for any rider.
1.
Enter a ramp and begin riding back and forth in a wide arc. Start from the lowest point and build up more and more speed.
2.
Each wall of the ramp should increase your speed. You don't need to spin your pedals, you just have to learn to roll into the quarter.
3.
When riding into the quarter, first squat down, then straighten your legs once you begin to go up, sort of pushing the bike from under you upwards. When you reach your peak, squat down again and repeat the movement riding down. This is a movement everyone has to internalize. Think of it as riding a swing. At any given moment on the quarter your body should be perpendicular to the ram surface.
4.
Don't be afraid to build up speed. Get to the point where you're reaching the edges of the quarters.
5.
We're almost there! Each time you ride up the quarter, end your ascent by pushing hard off the quarter with your legs. Kinda sorta similar to a bunny hop. So you ride up to the quarter and squat down, then you gradually straighten your legs and push off at the peak.
6.
Continue riding like this and soon enough fear will be replaced with a feeling of elation. It's quite addictive!
