How do it
A basic grind where you front peg slides on the ledge and your rear wheel rides on top of it. The smith grind serves as a springboard into other grinds, as well as a bunch of spins and air tricks.
1.
Wax the ledge to make your grind smoother. Ride along the ledge slowly and execute a bunny hop to the side, onto the ledge. While you're in mid‑jump, slightly shift your front wheel to the side, so that your front peg lands on the ledge and your rear wheel lands on top of the ledge. Make sure to shift all of your body weight backward, to take weight off the peg.
2.
This will make the grind effortless. Your rear wheel will gradually slip towards the edge of the ledge, so make sure to either give it more leeway or continuously shift the wheel if you’re planning a long grind.
3.
To exit do a simple side hop by bringing up both wheels simultaneously.
