Riders app Inc (“Riders”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates mobile app “Riders” (“Riders App”) that is available in Apple App Store and Google Play and several websites including riders.co, ride.rs and rideapp.com. It is Riders’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our mobile app and websites.

Users and Website Visitors

Like most website and mobile apps operators, Riders collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Riders’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Riders’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Riders may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

Riders also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments in Riders App. Riders don’t discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses for anyone except Riders administrators.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to Riders’s websites choose to interact with Riders in ways that require Riders to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Riders gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. In each case, Riders collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Riders. Riders does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

DATA COLLECTION

To grant you access and to use our Services, RIDERS requests you to provide the following information, some of which may be personal data:

Contact details: We collect your contact information such as first name and last name, email.

Other: When communicating with RIDERS, RIDERS collects and processes email correspondence between users and RIDERS staff for improving its Services and quality control, which includes the usage of the collected communications for the handling of claims and fraud detection purposes. Collected communications are kept for a limited amount of time and automatically deleted, unless RIDERS has a legitimate interest to keep such communications for a longer period, including for fraud investigation and legal purposes.

YOUR RIGHTS AND CONTROLLING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

You may have a right to request that we delete the personal information we hold about you at any time by sending an email to privacy@ride.rs, and we will take reasonable steps to delete your personal information from our current records. If you ask us to delete your personal information, we will let you know how the deletion affects your use of our website or products and services. If you terminate or delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days of the deletion of your account. Please be aware that search engines and similar third parties may still retain copies of your personal information that has been made public at least once, like certain profile information and public comments, even after you have deleted the information from our services or deactivated your account.

DATA WE COLLECT ON SITES AUTOMATICALLY

When using the Services, RIDERS also collects information automatically, some of which may be personal data. This includes data such as:

DATA PROCESSING PURPOSES

We use the information you provide, some of which may be personal data, for the following purposes:

A. Registration and account administration: We use the information to register your property and to allow you and RIDERS to administer and manage the Services offered to you.

B. Providing our Services: We use the information, which may include personal data, to provide our Services, facilitate their performance, improve the Services and Sites' content related to their usage.

С. Analyze the use of Services: We use the information, which may include personal data, to analyze the volume and history of your use of our Services.

D. Customer Service: We use the information to provide you customer support and customer success services, such as to: respond to your requests, questions and concerns; provide you with best practices to use the Services; engage in customer success communications when encountering unusual activities (e.g., spikes) in usage of Services.

E. Marketing/Communications: We use the information to provide you with information that you request, to send our newsletter, marketing communications and updates about new products and services or other news or offers which we believe will be of interest to you. Where we use your personal data for direct marketing purposes, such as newsletters and marketing communications on new products and services or other offers which we believe will be of interest to you, we include an unsubscribe link that you can use if you don’t want us to send messages in the future.

F. Analytics, improvements and research: We use the information which may include personal data to conduct research and analysis.

G. Security, fraud detection and prevention: We use the information, which may include personal data, in order to prevent fraud and other illegal or infringing activities when using our Sites as well as our Services. We also use this information to investigate and detect fraud. RIDERS can use personal data for risk assessment and security purposes, including the authentication of users. For these purposes, personal data may be shared with third parties, such as law enforcement authorities as permitted by applicable law and external advisors.

H. Legal and compliance: In certain cases, RIDERS needs to use the information provided, which may include personal data, to handle and resolve legal disputes or complaints, for regulatory investigations and compliance, to enforce agreement(s) or to comply with lawful requests from law enforcement insofar as it is required by law.

If we use automated means to process personal data which produces legal effects or significantly affects you, we will implement suitable measures to safeguard you rights and freedoms, including the right to obtain human intervention.

LEGAL BASE

In view of purpose A to D, RIDERS relies on the legal basis that the processing of your personal data is necessary for the performance of your agreement with RIDERS.

In view of purposes E to H, RIDERS relies on its legitimate commercial business interest to provide its Services to you, to prevent fraud and to improve its Services. When using personal data to serve our commercial business interest, RIDERS will always balance your rights and interests in the protection of your information against RIDERS’s rights and interests. For purpose I, RIDERS relies also where applicable on compliance with legal obligations (such as lawful law enforcement requests). Where needed under applicable law, RIDERS will obtain your consent prior to processing your personal data for direct marketing purposes.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

We provide information and content to service providers who support our business, such as cloud service providers and providers of content moderation services to ensure that the Platform is a safe and enjoyable place and service providers that assist us in marketing the Platform. The service providers for RIDERS include Amazon Web Services, Uploadcare, Stripe and Algolia.

DATA SHARING

We share your information, which may include personal data, with third parties as permitted by law and as described below. We do not sell or rent your personal data.

Service Providers: We share your information with third party service providers to provide our Services, store data and/or maintain the Sites or conduct business on our behalf. These service providers shall process personal data only as instructed by and to provide the services to RIDERS.

Payment Providers and other Financial Institutions: To process payments between you and RIDERS your information, as relevant, is shared with payment providers and other financial institutions.

Compelled Disclosure: When legally required, strictly necessary for the performance of the Services, or to protect our rights, we disclose your information to governmental authorities including law enforcement (subject to a lawful request), or in legal proceedings.

Sharing and Disclosure of Aggregate Data: We may share information in aggregate form and/or in a form which does not enable the recipient of such information to identify you, with third parties, for example for industry and demographic analysis.

In addition, RIDERS can disclose your personal data to third parties, if you (or your account administrator acting on your behalf) requests or authorizes disclosure thereof.

Aggregated Statistics

Riders may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites and Riders App. For instance, Riders may monitor the most popular media content shared in Riders App. Riders may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Riders does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

Riders discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Riders’s behalf or to provide services available at Riders’s websites and Riders App, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Riders App and Riders’s websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Riders will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. Minimum age

Children under 13

The minimum age for members is 13. Please do not try to become a member if you are younger than 13. If you are under 13 and have joined we will delete your information as soon as possible after learning this. Please advise us if you believe we have personal information relating to a person younger than 13.

Parents' permission

Minors 13 years or older must ask their parents' permission before providing personal information to us on the internet. Personal information placed on the Website will, subject to any privacy preferences set by you, be available on the internet.
