BS Snap

226 riders can do it
It is a surfing maneuver in which the surfer comes off the bottom turn at 30-50 degrees facing the water line with his or her back, quickly attacks the lip in the steep section and keeps riding the wave face.
How do it
The backside snap is probably the most challenging basic movement. Once you master it, consider your riding level more or less decent.
1.
To perform the bs snap you need a sufficiently steep wave.
2.
Ride down to the very bottom of the wave and perform a bottom turn.
3.
While executing the bottom turn, fix your eyes on the wave crest above you or slightly in front of you. This is where you’ll be directing your board.
4.
Begin to stand up. Swing your arms towards the part of the crest you've chosen as your destination.
5.
Direct your board vertically or almost vertically.
6.
Before reaching the top of the wave, turn your body, swing your arms and look down the wave. In this position the board is still riding upward while you’re already looking down.
7.
Turn the board around with your legs. Your front leg should end up right under your chest. You can place your hands on the board.
8.
Look forward onto the face of the wave and continue riding.
